Could you tell me a little bit about Arvanh?
I’ve known Arvanh since my sophomore year of college and he’s just like the friendliness, most genuine, and nicest person I know. He’s also very hard working which factors into why I trusted him to make me a program and stick with it. I just knew that it would be good because Arvanh’s just that type of person who’d keep me on track. He’s the perfect person to do this with and I’m really thankful I did this. This is my first experience with a personal trainer and it’s nice to have someone that I know who’s so accommodating. He knew my personality, my habits, and tailored it to me and gave me some results. I totally think you should do it.
What made you reach out to Arvanh?
The reason why I wanted to reach out to him was because I knew he was doing this. I knew that he was having this whole thing. And I’ve always wanted to do personal training. I always had said “Once I get a personal trainer, it’ll be over for everybody!” I thought it was a good time to do it. Like I said before I would’ve been really awkward and really hard for me to say yes to anybody else. I’m also like the type to be really weird when I work out with anybody. I’m glad I was able to do it with someone that I was really comfortable with. It made everything really smooth. It didn’t feel like “you have to work out on this day. You have to do this. You have to do that.” It was more like “I made this for you. I know you can do it. I know that this will give you the results you want.” So that’s why I chose him. I reached out to him.
What did you get out of his service?
The thing I wanted to get from doing this program from Arvanh….I wanted to look better I wanted to have a routine. I wanted to know what I was doing was right and make sure I wasn’t rushing things. Usually when I worked out, I would look at videos and try to research for myself. But I don’t really trust myself. So I think having him and knowing he’s had his certifications, and he made this program that gradually built up – I feel like I got that out of him. Knowing what I was doing was good for my body and abilities. Beyond having a routine, and setting up good habits, he made me more aware of where I was in life. Beyond working out, I have more goals in mind, more awareness of what’s going on in my body and mind…and heart. It sounds cheesy but I needed that. Whether it was from a friend, from myself, my family…it was nice to get it from Arvanh. I got a lot out of it basically.
How did he make you feel?
I feel like going into this I would’ve been super uncomfortable and awkward. I wouldn’t wanna share where I was physically. He made me feel really comfortable. He never judged me if I didn’t do a workout, missed a workout, or didn’t check anything off my list. He was just very understanding. He would be like “do you want to talk about anything. Anything you want to get off your chest”. It was never pushy. I don’t know how to express that enough. It was so comfortable. It was to the point that I was excited to workout and excited to tell Arvanh that I did all these things. I wouldn’t wanna let him down. He was just that trainer that just helped me so much and just personally in everything. He was just so supportive, encouraging, so non-judgey and a friend. It’s like a friend who’s helping you workout and be your best self. If you don’t know Arvanh and you’re hearing me say this you’ll probably be like “it just sounds so cheesy” but that’s the type of person he is. He has such a big heart. He will drop anything for his friends. Whether you are his friend, or whether you’ve known him for 5 minutes he’ll do the same for you that he did for me. I can’t think of anyone better to do this with especially if you haven’t done something like this before.
What progress did you make?
I’m not the strongest person. I don’t have the biggest arms or fattest butt. I see a difference from when I started out. I can see definition, I feel stronger. I can do 8 push ups, I can barely do 1 before. The most important thing to remember is that it takes time. It depends on what your goals are. My goals are to get toned and get stronger. I feel that I’ve made progress towards that. I just want to keep going. It’s a good start. Something to be excited about is he’s making something specifically for you. If you don’t like a workout or an exercise, he’ll change it for you. There’s no point in doing a workout that you don’t like and he knows that. There was not a time when I wasn’t excited to workout. I think the progress is there and you’ll feel good after you do it for sure.
Should I reach out to him?
He will talk to you, adjust to you, make you feel comfortable. Even if it’s not to workout, he can also help you with what you’re eating, what I’m putting into my body during this time.
Any last words?
What I want to say to Arvanh is thank you so much for not only our friendship over the past couple of years, but for being a great coach and trainer. I don’t even wanna say trainer because I feel like its such a small aspect of what he did for me. We hadn’t talked in so long, he just jumped in and didn’t miss a beat. He was like “I’m also your friend and trainer and I want you to do this this and this”. It was really nice having him keeping me accountable and being the greatest person during this time. I feel like I didn’t really talk to much people during this time. I really looked forward to us talking each week. Whether we had 15 minutes or 2 hours, it was always just for fun. Thank you for being that person for me. I hope you continue to do this and spread this. Let people know your heart through this because it’s such a big heart. You’re one of the most genuine and unique people I know. Anyone who gets to 5 minutes with you will want to be with you forever. I’m just so so grateful for you and I love you so much.
